Challenging our concept of Beauty with Armand Beasley | Made in Britain

In a world of beauty and the never-ending journey to the illustrious fountain of youth, many often find themselves at odds with the convenience of social media filters or the latest beauty products. In today’s episode I am joined by friend and familiar face to the beauty world – Armand Beasley. His TV shows include “Fakeover” and “Glam Squad” and he is also known for his contribution to “ How To Look Good Naked”, all of which has led him on an incredible voyage questioning the concept of beauty and the impact it has on our understanding of identity. We also discuss the hidden chemicals found in various products and the effect it has.

About Armand Beasley

Armand started off his career as an actor and toured for over two years in various productions ranging from the Crucible to Midsummer Nights Dream. During his ‘resting’ periods he decided to gain other skills and so began his career within the cosmetic industry.

For six years Armand had extensive training in skincare, makeup and fragrance with most of the major cosmetic companies, which resulted in his Personal Beauty studio set up in conjunction with House of Fraser.  Not only was he in constant demand to pamper and preen the Great British Public, he was also attracting interest from radio and TV stations as a beauty expert.

He finally decided to focus on the various media outlets where his affable manner and tips became hot property. Regular slots on GMTV followed with Armand creating makeup and beauty items involving members of the public; from ‘Wild and Wearable’ makeup, which involved a mother and daughter creating different looks using the same makeup, to ‘Black Beauty’, an item giving tips to women of colour whilst tackling subjects like Viteligo.

Armand also created a global tv series for Discovery Home and Health channel called ‘Fakeover’ where he stopped people in the street to transform them. Other shows that he has contributed to include Channel 4’s ‘How to Look Good Naked’, RTE’s ‘The Afternoon Show’, the BBC’s ‘Magic Number’ ,Living TV’s Changing Faces as well as being part of ITVs This Morning, Glam Squad! Armand has interviewed many international celebrities on the red carpet like Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Vivica Fox and Mario Van Peebles. Other celebrity interviews include pop stars Sophie Ellis Bexter, Christina Milian and the Backstreet Boys.

For a number of years right up until the pandemic Armand hosted the Warpaint stage for Professional Beauty trade show UK. March 2019, saw Armand host India’s very first MakeUp Week Live from Mumbai, which was a huge success! As a trusted expert in his field he is called upon for corporate engagements such as the G20 summit in 2009!
